ST IVES PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Sydney Grammar School St Ives NSW Completed in 2022 The new build is the first stage of a Masterplan. Close collaboration between the Headmaster and JCA during every phase ensured the building was tailored to suit their growing educational needs. The building and classroom design adopts the Reggio Emilia approach in providing an abundance of natural light, connections to the outdoors, a variety of interior and exterior learning spaces, integrated and linked to the school community beyond. The three-story structure consists of: the lower ground floor contains student amenities, plant facilities, and storage spaces, while the ground and first floors house general education classrooms and support areas. The structure features a steel-framed roof, reinforced concrete columns and slabs, and ceramic glazed brickwork to the external facade. Wall finishes consist of generally rendered and painted, while doors and windows comprise a combination of timber and aluminium.
