Adaptive re-use of a severely compromised heritage-listed building with a long history of varying uses. Strategically, three separate DAs were lodged to enable a timely site start; demolition, a change of use with the main work contract to follow. The project was contracted on a cost-plus basis and completed on time and budget. The local response has been very encouraging as the first independent boys’ preparatory school established in Sydney since 1954.
